Verizon Completes Terremark Acquisition

NEW YORK – April 11, 2011 –
Verizon Communications Inc. (NYSE, NASDAQ: VZ) today closed its previously announced acquisition of Terremark Worldwide, Inc., clearing the way for Verizon to lead the rapidly evolving global managed IT infrastructure and cloud services market.
The acquisition was completed via a short-form merger under Delaware law; therefore, no Terremark shareholder vote was required. Terremark will operate as a wholly owned subsidiary of Verizon.

Verizon Wireless Customers Can Continue to Donate to Relief Efforts Through Text-to-Donate Campaign
NEW YORK – April 5, 2011 –
The Verizon Foundation and Verizon employees have pledged more than $800,000 to support earthquake-tsunami relief efforts in Japan.
The donations were raised through the Verizon employee disaster-relief matching-gift program. Under the program, the Verizon Foundation will match employee donations dollar for dollar, up to $1,000 per employee, to three nonprofit organizations – American Red Cross, Save the Children and World Vision – that are providing aid in Japan.

Four out of five eligible Verizon Wireless customers are registered to manage their own accounts online through My Verizon. Additionally, hundreds of millions of transactions are being performed by a growing number of customers on their wireless devices using My Verizon Mobile, which was introduced last year and provides mobile access to the same user interface.

BASKING RIDGE, NJ — Today, Verizon Wireless unveiled an additional 59 markets that will benefit from the world’s first large-scale 4G Long Term Evolution (LTE) network by the end of this year. These newly named areas, added to the 39 initial markets launched in December 2010 and 49 markets announced at the Consumer Electronics Show in January, mean that consumers and businesses in at least 147 U.S. cities will have access to the fastest, most advanced 4G mobile network in America.
