Acquisition Solidifies Unified Platform Approach; Extends HTML5 Mobile Web Opportunity to Appcelerator Developers

MOUNTAIN VIEW, CALIF. – October 24, 2011 – Appcelerator®, the leading integrated mobile platform for rapidly developing native and mobile web applications using open web technologies, today announced that it has entered into an agreement to acquire Particle Code, the DEMO God 2010 award-winning mobile gaming and HTML5 development platform. The acquisition enables Appcelerator to expand its world-class platform used by over 1.6 million developers to become the first mobile platform to offer an integrated native, hybrid, and HTML5 web application solution. The acquisition is the second this year for Appcelerator following its acquisition of Aptana in January.

Casio launch VX-100 EPOS terminal using Android™ operating system

LONDONOctober 21, 2011 – Casio Computer Co. Ltd., today announced the release of the stylishly designed VX-100 business support terminal. Customer relationship management, reservation management and sales management applications will be available on this terminal. Associated with those applications, the terminal provides business operators with a variety of data that they can use to stimulate business demand. The VX-100 business support terminal will begin shipping in December 2011.

The VX-100 is a compact EPOS terminal equipped with a colour main display with full-touch screen operation, a sub-display that is great for showing information to customers, and a built-in thermal printer to generate receipts. The VX-100 is designed for use in SME retail stores, and works as both a standalone system or as part of a networked system.

Telenor presents digital winners prize

This November Telenor will present the makers of Nordic region’s most innovative digital business product or service with the 2011 Digital Winners Prize. The award ceremony will be held during the Digital Winners Conference 2011, on the November 22nd. Nominations open this week.

The award is 200.000 NOK for the winner(s) and business development with Telenor Comoyo with the goal of distribution through Telenor consumer operations. The prize will be presented by Telenor EVP and Head of Digital Services & Nordic Kristin Skogen Lund.
