Actix’s LTE Solution Wins at Telecoms.com LTE Awards 2012

London24 May 2012: Actix, a world leader in mobile network analytics and optimization, has won a Telecoms.com LTE Award 2012 for its LTE Network Acceptance solution. Beating 38 entrants, the Actix solution was recognised as a unique and exceptional network product with a proven ability to measure true LTE performance in real-world conditions.

Actix LTE Acceptance supports the majority of Europe, Asia and North America’s early LTE deployments. The solution is also being readily adopted for newer deployments, with Actix signing up its 60th customer for LTE Network Acceptance earlier this month.

Bill McHale, CEO, Actix, commented: “Actix’s LTE solutions continue to help operators across the globe test, optimise and analyse their networks. The judges at the LTE awards have recognised just how important it is to have the right solution in place to deliver the data and insight required to guarantee network performance and take the risk out of LTE rollouts.”

Actix’s LTE Network Acceptance solution helps mobile operators minimize the substantial risks involved in LTE rollout and ensure day one network quality by independently verifying the performance of LTE networks prior to launch. Actix does this by enforcing transparent and unambiguous KPIs; automating the network acceptance process to manage cost and complexity; and delivering centralized governance, ensuring full control of network equipment providers. Full optimization capabilities also allow any issues identified during the process to be addressed at the same time.

The Telecoms.com LTE World Awards are a symbol of recognition to the LTE industry as a mark of leadership, quality and innovation. The judging panel consists of senior executives from some of the world’s leading telecommunications companies, including Orange, AT&T, Three and Telecom Italia. This year’s event took place on May 23rd in the El Xalet, Montjuic, Barcelona.

Video the key to service provider profit growth in the LTE world, says Movius

ATLANTA – May 22, 2012 - Revenues from services such as video conferencing are key to service providers around the world for achieving a successful ROI from their LTE investment, according to Movius Interactive Corporation, global leader in value-added communication services.

Speaking on the first day of the LTE World Summit in Barcelona, Movius CEO Dominic Gomez said that LTE opened up enormous opportunities for hard-pressed global service providers as they look for new revenue streams.

“LTE provides the capacity for video to become the accepted means of communication for smartphone devices,” said Gomez. “That means that not only can new services like mobile television and mobile video conferencing emerge, but basic backbone services such as messaging can also be improved.”

According to a forecast by In-Stat[1], LTE subscriptions will experience a 3,400% explosion of growth between 2011 and 2015.

Movius is a recognized leader in unified communications solutions for telecommunication providers around the world. In the emerging LTE market Movius is providing innovative solutions for the telephony access element of video calls. As video continues to grow in importance for the business environment, Movius is also bringing additional enterprise solutions to carriers to allow for integration and bundling.

Gomez’s comments come shortly after Movius’ highly successful participation at CTIA Wireless in New Orleans, where it showcased new solutions and products such as CAFE (Communication Applications Framework Engine). CAFE enables service providers to offer a constant flow of new, relevant applications to their end users in an affordable, rapid and cloud-ready environment.

Movius also demonstrated its cross carrier multiple identity solution, myIdentities, which allows service providers to bill for separate voice, SMS and data usage on the same device regardless of the end user’s primary carrier in the wireless, wire line and/or cable/MSO Markets.
