Service Builder enhances Cobe.io’s automated visual model of applications
The new beta function allows users to augment the visual models to make them a closer representation of their application and to add metadata that links application components into business services which can in turn be linked to business divisions (for costs reporting and SLA management) and to existing configuration management tools. The user-friendly drag-and-drop interface allows users to quickly and easily change the model details.
“Cobe.io exists to make developing with microservices easier by understanding the dynamic and complex interdependencies between the business services, and the associated containers and hosts,” said Alan Simpson, CTO, Cobe.io. “Our latest beta release further enhances what we provide to customers as they can more easily adjust their models of how applications work together.”
Originally developed for use on Kubernetes, Cobe has also announced native support for Docker Enterprise Edition, Docker Community Edition and Docker Swarm. Cobe now delivers Docker users a detailed look into the resource usage and the various performance characteristics of running containers without Kubernetes.
In addition, Cobe has released a containerized version of its award winning AbiliSoft system. Together they combine the top down visualization of microservices with AbiliSoft, a bottom up reporting solution that provides a data collection substrate to compliment any IT Operations Management Solution.
“Containers and microservices are revolutionising application development processes and IT infrastructure, which in turn is allowing organizations to decrease costs and reach unprecedented levels of efficiency. As organizations increasingly adopt and run microservices in containers as part of their digital transformation strategies, or to transition from monolithic applications to cloud native, you are faced with a whole new set of challenges.” stated Simpson. “To effectively support your digital transformation and cloud migration projects, you need new tools that bridge the gap between cloud and traditional environments; provide clarity on cost of delivery (and failure); and reduce MTTR.”
The new release allows customers to monitor non-cloud native infrastructure and systems using Cobe’s SaaS platform. It delivers a holistic view of applications that span cloud-native and non-cloud native environments.
Cobe offers service-centric intelligence to visualize services, impact analysis allowing users to investigate problems in real-time and assess the impact and ease of use. Cobe is a browser based, SaaS hosted service that requires little setup.
Cobe Service Builder is now available in public beta. Beta users can get started in as little as 10 minutes with minimal effort. Sign up to the public beta here: https://cobe.io/register
