Mobile data privacy breaches mean churn: 83% of consumers would change operator if their privacy was compromised
75% of consumers would pay more for privacy-protected apps: clear opportunity for operators to make margin and retain customers
London, 26 April, 2012 – AdaptiveMobile, the world leader in mobile security, today reveals that 83% of consumers would change their operator if their privacy was compromised. According to AdaptiveMobile’s third Global Security Insights in Mobile report, polling 1024 consumers, eight out of ten consumers feel extremely strongly about security, representing both an opportunity and a threat for operators today. However, the public is also willing to invest in good security, with 75% willing to pay more to gain privacy-protected apps.

Lookout Study Identifies Top U.S. Cities for Phone Loss: Philadelphia, Seattle and Oakland
San Francisco – March 22, 2012 – Lookout, the global leader in mobile security, today released findings from the first-ever phone loss study, which revealed that lost phones, if unrecovered, could cost U.S. consumers more than $30 billion this year. As part of the study, Lookout Labs today released the Mobile Lost & Found, an interactive website for people to discover the places where phones are most often lost, the likelihood of losing a phone by region, and the financial impact of lost phones.
Abingdon, UK, 08 February 2012 – Kaspersky Lab saw in the New Year in a positive mood after a series of top marks in several comparative tests. First up in this string of wins was corporate solution Kaspersky Endpoint Security 8 for Windows and the consumer solution Kaspersky Internet Security 2012.
Both products were awarded VB100 Certification after being tested along with nearly 60 other security solutions. In the three different tests that formed the basis of the certification, both products achieved perfect results. Details of the VB100 comparative test can be found here.
Next up, the aforementioned products – Kaspersky Endpoint Security 8 for Windows and Kaspersky Internet Security 2012 – fought off all other competing products in complex testing by AV-Test.org. The products gained the highest scores of 17 (average – 13.2) and 17.5 (average – 13.4) respectively. Testing consisted of several trials, including those on effectiveness of malware detection and removal, the number of false positive detections, and resource usage.
