Verizon Wireless Customers Can Continue to Donate to Relief Efforts Through Text-to-Donate Campaign
NEW YORK – April 5, 2011 –
The Verizon Foundation and Verizon employees have pledged more than $800,000 to support earthquake-tsunami relief efforts in Japan.
The donations were raised through the Verizon employee disaster-relief matching-gift program. Under the program, the Verizon Foundation will match employee donations dollar for dollar, up to $1,000 per employee, to three nonprofit organizations – American Red Cross, Save the Children and World Vision – that are providing aid in Japan.
Regional development consortium SPTE selects Alcatel-Lucent to build the optical fiber network of Extremadura in Western Spain
Mérida, April 5th 2011 – Alcatel-Lucent (Euronext Paris and NYSE: ALU) has been selected as sole supplier to build the network of the cable operator of Extremadura region in Western Spain, following the contract award by the regional development consortium Sociedad Promotora de Telecomunicaciones de Extremadura (SPTE), of which TeleCable, Extremadura Avante, Caja de Extremadura and Caja Badajoz are major shareholders.
